EDPN Conference 2012

The first conference of the European Decision Professionals Network: Competing through quality of strategic decisions – Enhancing competitiveness by adopting structured decision analysis practices, was held in Amsterdam – from Thursday 4 October to Friday 5 October, 2012.

Objectives

The goal of this first EDPN conference was to kick-start a community of Decision Professionals across Europe who believe in the power of decision quality as a competitive differentiator. The conference brought together practitioners and experts in decision analysis across industry, academia and government, giving them the unique opportunity to exchange their practical experience, knowledge and latest insights in this field with other decision professionals.

Programme

The two-day conference programme consisted of a mix of inspiring presentations and an interactive programme. Throughout the conference, the focus was on the question of how well major investment and strategic decisions are made, and how this helps organisations to compete in the marketplace, or contributes to good public administration. The associated concept of Decision Quality as a competitive strength was a key discussion topic.
